"Cabrio roofs" are flexible roofing systems for terraces and other structures with large louvres made of glass, aluminium or stainless steel. The roof of this house in New Zealand consists of two parallel areas with 23 louvres each. To minimise the weight of the structure, aluminium louvres by LOCARNO Architectural Systems were used. They also match the colour of the house. Thanks to the intelligent Picolo 0 linear drive from elero, the roof louvres can be adjusted according to the weather: they keep out the heat, prevent glare in intense sunlight but still permit a view of the sky. The roof can also be completely closed, for example if it rains. The louvres are easily controlled via a wall transmitter.
