Impressive movement of louver windows
 
Glass and metal are the most commonly used materials in modern architecture. Many planners and architects set particular accents by creating transparency with window areas or lending their façades an unusual appearance with shimmering, metallic effects. Both of these may be combined impressively with motorized louver windows from elero.

Be it glass louver windows with swiveling slats or so-called parallel ventilator windows, where the glass slats elements move forwards parallel to the façade, the motorization solution which elero has implemented with the company FKN for façade and property construction is suitable for both situations. The requirements for this were quickly defined: When closed the windows have to be watertight and air-tight so as to prevent cold and damp air from penetrating the room, and also have to meet the latest smoke and heat extract regulations. To date such compact drives have not been strong enough to withstand the enormous wind loads, such as those which develop on multistory buildings and skyscrapers, for example.

Small but powerful
This is why the Junior 1s is used for the motorization of louver windows. It has an adjusting force of as much as 4,000 newtons, and thus withstands even the highest wind pressure very reliably. In this respect, compared to similar drives from other manufacturers, the Junior closes louver windows so they are absolutely windproof and watertight, thus also enhancing the energy balance of the entire building. So that the drives fit perfectly in the louver windows, a compact construction is important, however. Thus, despite the compact dimensions of the Junior 1s, the ap-plications may be placed very close together. The integrated synchronization control with failure monitoring ensures that the slats move absolutely synchronously.

As the Junior 1s is installed in indoor areas, it is also fitted with a special gear unit which operates particularly quietly. “The window drives are an ideal supplement to our product range”, says Hartmut Blum, Branch Manager elero Linearantriebstechnik. “Now, as well as sun protection slats, façade elements and ventilation domes, we can also motorize louver windows.”
