Linear actuators enhance the working

Alongside materials benefits, many companies have recognized the impact of an optimum office climate on motivation and the ability to perform. For instance the management consultants Accenture, which has its Accenture New Office Campus on the edge of Kronberg as the main headquaters for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Part of this complex is also an atrium with a glass cupola. Here the architect and client placed their faith in the positive impact of natural daylight. Furthermore, the entire glass cupola may be raised with the aid of elero linear actuators, thus allowing for natural ventialion.
 

 
All good things come from above
 
In addition to the aestehtic advantages a light cupola offers the benefit that the amount of natural daylight is greater than with facade-integrated windows. This benefits both the company and employees as symptoms of fatigue are lower at workplaces with sufficient natuaral daylight, the error quota is reduced, and efficiency is enhanced. Other important climate factors such as the temperature and ventilation are also regulated via the light cupola, which has a span of approximately skin meters.
 

 
When necessary, four special elero linear actuators from the Comapkt series quietly raise the 3.5 tonne cupola, moving it upwards by as much as 65 centimetres. The motors are controlled by the building´s own technoology centre. The latter evaluates the data from the entire building complex and moves the cupola accordingly, tus ensuring that enough fresh air can enter the building and the temperature remains a pleasant one, and that conference participants keep a cool head even if a discussion gets heated.
 

 
Greater building safety with smoke and heat extractor actuators
 
Also intergrated into the technology dangerous smoke and aerates the affected areas with oxygen, thus enhancing safety in the building. In the event of the development of smoke the unit activates motors on the inlet and outlet airlocks, for example the linear actuators on the light cupola in the atrium. The actuators used have to withstan high temperatures: For the new construction in Kronberg the Compakt actuators were specially certified with the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) for this smoke and heat extractor unit. Moreover elero offers additional actuators, such as the Econom 0 RWA, which have already been certified and may be used without any further testing. Theproduct description RWA derives, by the way, from the German abbreviation for smoke and heat extractors.

If it gets too warm underneath the glass cupola, the latter is moved upwards as if by magic: Four linear actuators from elero raise the construction of steel profiles and solar glass by as much as 65 centimetres, thus allowing the room beneath to be effectively ventilated.
 

 
The powerful push-rod actuator Compakt from elero has a propulsive force of up to 15,000 Newton. Thus the glass cupola with a weight of 3.5 tonnes at the Kronberg Cambus may be moved and kept in position quite easily by four actuators.
