Flexible in the third dimension - LIMAline family offers the right actuator for every type of slat Regardless of how large, how heavy, of whether horizontal or vertical, or the material used for the slats: Alongside the proven LIMAline 60, with the LIMAline 300 and LIMAline 800 elero Linearantriebstechnik now offers suitable actuators for every situation. In this respect the elero developers have considerably increased the torques of the self-locking systems: LIMAline is now available with 60, 300 or 800 Nm. Thus the actuators can absorb high wind loads, and be used with much larger slats with a width of up to one metre and a length of six metres. In this respect the LIMAline systems move slats with a dynamic load of as much as 50 Nm. Together with the other products from the façade technology unit, elero is presenting the LIMAline 300 and LIMAline 800 for the first time ever at BAU 2005 in Munich (17 - 22 January 2005, Hall C1, Stand 227).
Invisible technology for modern architecture
Glass is still one of the most widely-used materials in contemporary architecture – with all its benefits and disadvantages. Thus with every glass surface the corresponding shading and light deflection is required, depending on the time of year, weather and incidence of light. Many architects take care of these needs using movable slats made of glass, aluminium, stainless steel or photovoltaic elements. Their drive units have to mounted as inconspicuously as possible so as not to impair the appearance of architecturally sophisticated buildings. For this reason the LIMAline actuator system is integrated into the structural profiles of the façade, and is thus practically invisible. LIMAline is available in various materials, for example in special plastics, stainless steel, anodised or powder-coated aluminium.
High degree of economic efficiency
With large buildings in particular the economic requirements play a decisive role in the meantime. Which is why LIMAline is designed so that as many as 15 systems may be driven by one motor. Moreover, the system is maintenance- and corrosion-free, and thus does not lead to any follow-up costs.
Individual slat requirements
When slats are used in a façade, the building profile corresponds with the lighting conditions inside the building. With rotary movements of 360 degrees it possible to create a lively, changing façade time and time again. At the same time, LIMAline guarantees needs-oriented sun and glare protection for the users of the building; this protection may be controlled individually or through integration into a building control system. All in all, with LIMAline the architect has the possibility to design a façade not only in terms of height and width, but also in terms of depth as a third dimension.
